Annual Physical for Wellington Patients
An annual physical is the visit you book when nothing is wrong — vital signs, a head-to-toe examination, a review of everything you take, and a plan for the screenings that fit your age and history. Serenity By A Dr. Sareen sees Wellington adults at two nearby offices: Loxahatchee on Southern Boulevard and West Palm Beach on Forest Hill Boulevard.
What happens at an annual physical
- A review of your health history, medications, and any symptoms you have noticed
- Vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, height, and weight
- A head-to-toe physical examination
- A conversation about preventive screenings appropriate for your age and history
- Lab work ordered when your provider recommends it
- A plan for follow-up care, referrals, or refills if you need them
Why the yearly visit is the one worth keeping
High blood pressure, high cholesterol, and early type 2 diabetes almost never announce themselves. They show up on a blood pressure cuff or a lab panel at an appointment that happened because it was on the calendar, not because anything hurt. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force publishes which screenings have evidence behind them at which ages, and the physical is where that long general list gets narrowed to the handful that actually apply to you. It is also the natural place to sort out which adult vaccines the CDC currently recommends for someone your age, rather than leaving that to a pharmacy questionnaire.
Two offices, both a short drive from Wellington
We do not have an office inside the Village of Wellington, and we would rather say so plainly than imply one. What we have is two offices on the roads Wellington already drives. The Loxahatchee office sits north-west of the village in the medical office park on Southern Boulevard, a straight run up 441 or Southern, with free surface parking at the door. The West Palm Beach office is due east on Forest Hill Boulevard, past Wellington Green and Military Trail, and never requires getting onto I-95. Between January and April, when equestrian-season traffic makes South Shore and Forest Hill slow in the mornings, most Wellington patients find the Loxahatchee drive the quicker of the two. Both keep the same hours, Monday through Friday, eight in the morning to five in the afternoon.
How to get more out of the appointment
The questions people forget are almost always the ones they meant to ask first, so write them down before you come. Bring every medication and supplement you take, in the bottles or on a list — the list your provider reads should be the current one, not last year's. If another practice ran labs or imaging in the past year, bring the results or the name of the office so they can be requested rather than repeated.
- Your questions, written down before you arrive
- A complete medication and supplement list
- Recent lab, imaging, or specialist reports
- Home blood pressure or blood sugar readings if you keep them
- Photo ID and your insurance card
Booking your physical
Call (561) 879-4006 for Loxahatchee or (561) 473-9044 for West Palm Beach. New patients are welcome at both. It is worth checking with your plan beforehand that the visit is covered as preventive care — most plans cover it, the details differ, and it is easier to know in advance than afterwards. If your provider orders lab work you will be told what is being checked and when to expect results.
Do you have an office in Wellington?
No. Our nearest offices are Loxahatchee, north-west on Southern Boulevard, and West Palm Beach, east on Forest Hill Boulevard. Both are a short drive from the village and both have free parking at the building.
Which office should a Wellington patient choose?
Either. Loxahatchee is usually the faster drive during equestrian season when Forest Hill and South Shore are busy in the mornings; West Palm Beach is closer if you are heading east for work afterwards.
How long does an annual physical take?
About thirty minutes for most patients. A first visit runs longer, because that is where your history is recorded, and so does a physical that turns up something worth talking through properly.
Do I need to fast beforehand?
Only if fasting lab work is planned. Ask when you book — if fasting labs are ordered, the office will tell you before the appointment rather than on the day.
Can I bring up a new problem at my physical?
Yes, and mention it at the start rather than on your way out. Raised early, there is time to address it or arrange follow-up while you are still in the room.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Photo ID, insurance card, current medication list, and any recent lab or imaging results.
