Catching what causes no symptoms

What the visit covers, start to finish

The appointment opens with a review of your history and anything that has changed since your last visit, then moves into vitals and a physical exam. Labs are ordered only where they add information the exam alone cannot provide. Why the physical is separate from a sick visit

It is tempting to fold a physical into whatever appointment is already on the calendar, but the two visits are built for different purposes. A sick visit is focused entirely on the problem you came in with — there usually is not time left over to also work through screenings and a full history review.
