Weight Loss Program · Loxahatchee Groves
Medically Supervised Weight Loss for Loxahatchee Groves Patients
Weight is a medical issue, not a willpower issue. At Serenity By A Dr. Sareen, weight management is physician-supervised in a practice led by board-certified internist Dr. Gurpreet Singh Sareen — which means your plan starts with your actual health picture: labs, medications, blood pressure, blood sugar, thyroid, and any conditions that affect your weight.
How the program works
- Medical evaluation — full history, current medications, and conditions that affect weight
- Lab work — screening for thyroid, metabolic, and other underlying contributors
- A personalized plan — built by your physician around your actual health, not a template
- Follow-up visits — regular check-ins to track progress and adjust the plan safely
- Whole-health management — diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol handled alongside the weight plan
Why work with an internist on weight
Many weight programs run without a physician involved at all. Here, weight management sits inside the rest of your medical care — the same practice sees the whole picture, including how weight interacts with a chronic condition you are already managing or a medication that may be affecting your metabolism. That connection is easy to miss in a program that only tracks pounds.
Serving Loxahatchee Groves
Loxahatchee Groves sits along the same corridor as our Loxahatchee office on Southern Boulevard, and program visits for weight management are held at our West Palm Beach office on Forest Hill Boulevard, a short drive east via Southern Boulevard and Military Trail. Primary care is also available closer to home at the Loxahatchee office. Call (561) 473-9044 to schedule a weight-management evaluation.
What the first visit actually covers
The first appointment is longer than a routine visit because it has to be — a full history, a look at current medications and whether any of them affect weight, and lab work ordered to rule out or confirm an underlying contributor before any plan is written. Nothing is prescribed at the first visit without that groundwork. What comes out of it is a plan specific to what the labs and history actually show, not a standard handout given to every patient.
What follow-up visits look like once the plan starts
After the initial evaluation, follow-up visits track how the plan is actually working — not just a number on a scale, but how your labs and other health markers are trending alongside it. Adjustments happen at these visits based on what is actually observed, not on a fixed schedule set before your provider had any data. If a related condition, such as blood pressure or cholesterol, needs attention at the same time, it is handled in the same visit rather than referred elsewhere.
The lab work that comes before any plan
Before a weight-management plan is written, lab work looks for the kind of contributor a scale alone cannot show — thyroid function, blood sugar, and markers tied to metabolism are common starting points. Skipping that step and going straight to a plan risks treating a symptom while missing the condition actually driving it. That is the difference between a physician-supervised program and a generic one: the order of operations, not just who is delivering the advice.
What this program does not do
There is no promised number of pounds, no fixed timeline, and no medication named here before a physician has actually reviewed your labs and history — how any individual responds to a plan varies, and a program that claims otherwise is not being honest with you. What the program does offer is a plan built from your actual health picture rather than a generic template, adjusted at follow-up visits as your situation changes, with your other conditions managed in the same chart rather than treated as someone else's problem.
Insurance and getting started
We work with most major insurance plans — call (561) 473-9044 to confirm coverage for medical weight-management visits and schedule your evaluation.
Is this program run by a doctor?
Yes. It is physician-supervised, in a practice led by board-certified internist Dr. Gurpreet Singh Sareen, which means your plan is built from a medical evaluation and lab work rather than a generic checklist. Weight management sits inside the rest of your medical care, not run as a separate, disconnected program.
Do you have an office in Loxahatchee Groves?
No. Weight-management visits are held at our West Palm Beach office on Forest Hill Boulevard, a short drive east via Southern Boulevard and Military Trail. Primary care is also available closer to home at the Loxahatchee office, which keeps the same hours, Monday through Friday, eight in the morning to five in the afternoon.
Will you check for medical causes of weight gain?
Yes. Lab work and a full medical evaluation come before any plan is written — thyroid function, blood sugar, and metabolic markers are common starting points, since a scale alone cannot show what is actually driving a weight change. Skipping that step risks treating a symptom while missing the underlying condition.
Do I need to be a current patient to start?
No. New patients are welcome to begin with a weight-management evaluation without an existing relationship with the practice. Bring a photo ID, insurance card, a current medication list, and any recent lab results, and your first visit will build a plan from that history rather than a standard template.
Can you manage diabetes or high blood pressure as part of the same program?
Yes. Related conditions are handled alongside the weight plan rather than as a separate visit somewhere else, since the same practice already manages chronic conditions day to day. A medication adjusted for one condition can be weighed against its effect on your weight plan, in the same chart, by the same provider.
Will I be given a specific weight-loss target or timeline?
No. Your plan is built around your actual health picture — labs, medications, and conditions that affect your weight — and how anyone responds varies, so the program does not promise a number or a date. What it does offer is a plan adjusted at follow-up visits as your situation actually changes.
